Jeff
Brooker is a Certified Specialist in Taxation
Law by the South Carolina Supreme Court. His
primary practice areas are tax planning for
individuals and businesses including estate
planning, tax planning for businesses and dealing
with controversies with governmental tax authorities,
federal and state. His practice includes the

irrevocable life insurance trusts, family
limited partnerships and limited liability
companies, charitable trusts and other estate
planning techniques and the corresponding
documentation.

Reorganization of business entities to obtain
maximum income and estate tax benefits as
well as insulating the owners of such businesses
from liability including the use of corporations,
limited partnerships, limited liability
companies, private foundations and joint
ventures.

Interface with examining agents of the Internal
Revenue Service and/or the South Carolina
Department of Revenue for clients under
audit, including the preparation of taxpayer
protests to proposed tax assessments.
Mr.
Brooker is a regionally known attorney with
a reputation for thorough and thoughtful advice
concerning tax planning for his clients. Prior
to working in Columbia, South Carolina at his
current firm, Mr. Brooker lived and worked in
Houston, Texas for several years after he obtained
his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of
Houston.
